Welcome to the blog of Team Kenya & thank you for deciding to follow and read our updates!
Let us introduce ourselves to you:

Sara Gabelhei: Team Leader/Treasurer
I grew up in: West Kelowna, BC
I like to: Play sports, travel, laugh
My favourite ice cream is: Mint chocolate chip
One thing I want to do before I die: Go skydiving!
My favourite scent is: Fresh laundry
I am excited to go to Kenya and: Experience the different culture, see their way of life, and do medical outreach.

Melissa Skretting: Chaplain/Nurse
I grew up in: Sherwood Park, AB
I like to: Knit, read, play piano, be outside, and paint.
My favourite Christmas tradition is: Opening stockings on Christmas morning.
My favourite food is: Guacamole
I want to travel to: Europe
I am excited to go to Kenya and: Play and interact with kids, and do medical outreach.

Dieta Schlein: Logistics
I grew up in: Mission, BC
I like to: Play piano, hike, paint, collect things.
My favourite childhood memory is: playing make-believe in the forest.
My favourite ethnic food is: SUSHI
My favourite book is: The Little Prince
I am excited to go to Kenya and: Make new friends, see what God's doing in Kenya, experience the culture, and see cool animals!

For those of you who do not know, we will be leaving Edmonton, Alberta on January 5, 2010, and arriving in Nairobi, Kenya on the next day. We will be leaving Nairobi on January 27th, arriving back in Edmonton on January 28th.

It seems like we are leaving for Kenya SO SOON, and at times that can be overwhelming! Please pray for peace and focus as we pull the last details together.

  4. Dear Kenya Girls, { Including Gloria, }

    We are thankful you made it to Kenya. Never will we forget the first time Gloria left for there. We, Nels and I were in front of the Mission Home in Mpls. saying farwell when all of a suddern as someone was putting Gloria's bag in the trunk of the car taking her to the airport the bag opened up and emptied everything on the grass. Remember, Gloria? Any way you made it all the way and have survived there in spite of accidents and pain. All four of you are in our prayers. Nels and Marion Loberg
